Safety components
Safety components are used to detect, monitor and reliably stop hazardous machine movement. An effective solution is formed by the complete safety chain: a sensor or switch that detects the condition of a guard, a safety relay or controller that evaluates the signal, and a final switching element that removes the hazardous energy.
This category brings together PILZ PNOZmulti 2 configurable safety controllers, safety relays, guard locking devices, mechanical and non-contact safety switches, and safety light curtains. Relays suit individual emergency-stop, guard monitoring and other safety functions. Configurable controllers combine multiple functions and provide more detailed diagnostics, while interlocks, switches and light curtains are selected according to the required method of access protection.
Selection depends on the required safety level, number of inputs and safe outputs, contact type, supply voltage, response time, reset method and diagnostic requirements. When replacing an existing component, its wiring, contact function, connector, actuator and mounting dimensions must also be checked. A similar appearance does not mean that two devices are interchangeable.

For a new solution, provide the safety function, required safety level, machine stopping time and information about the existing control system.
