Fiksuotas temperatūros nustatymas apsaugo nuo žmogiškos klaidos nustatant temperatūrą. Labai dažnai pasitaikantis atvejis, kada žiemą, norint pakelti temperatūrą spintoje, šildytuvo termostatas (NC funkcija) nustatomas maksimaliai 60°C temperatūrai. Nepagalvojama, kad šildo ne termostatas, o prie jo prijungtas šildytuvas, ir sprendimas yra didinti šildymo galią. Atėjus šiltiems orams spintos vidus sušyla ne tik nuo išorės ir instaliuotų gaminių šilumos, bet ir nuo pastoviai veikiančio šildytuvo. Rezultatas - temperatūra viduje viršyja 60°C, o kartais net vienu metu įjungiamas vėsinimo režimas.
Fiksuotos reikšmės didžiajai daugumai atvejų yra tinkamos:
- temperatūrai nukritus žemiau +15°C įjungiamas šildymas
- temperatūrai pakilus aukščiau nei +50°C įjungiamas vėsinimas
Aišku, fiksuotos reikšmės apsaugo ir nuo kenkėjiško klaidingo temperatūros nustatymo, nors tai greičiausiai aktualu tik kritiniams uždaviniams.
Dar vienas malonus privalumas - fiksuoto diapazono termostatai kainuoja mažiau.

Tamper-proof (Pre-set) Thermostat/Contact breaker (NC) for regulating heaters or for switching signal devices when temperature has fallen below the minimum value. The contact opens when temperature is rising.
Tamper-proof (Pre-set) Thermostat/Contact maker (NO) for regulating filter fans, heat exchangers or for switching signal devices when temperature limit has been exceeded. The contact closes when temperaure is rising.
Heaters and cooling equipment can be switched independently from each other with a temperature offset as opposed to the usual change-over contacts.
