Pagrindinės savybės ir išskirtinumai:
- Naudojama plati šviesos juosta vietoje taškinio šviesos spindulio.
- Yra žymiai pranašesni už standartinius retrorefleksinius jutiklius. Kadangi pastarųjų veikimas yra ribotas detektuojant labai siaurus, netaisyklingai išdėstytus objektus. Srities jutikliai patikimai aptinka netaisyklingos formos objektus (vos nuo 2 mm aukščio).
- Šviesos juosta yra sudaryta iš 5-ių 12 mm pločio spindulių, o kiekvienas iš jų gali būti išjungtas atskirai.
- Galima ne vien tik aptikti objektus, bet ir matuoti jų aukštį (bei šiuos duomenis gauti per IO-Link).
- Galimi du režimai: ilgo aptikimo (iki 4 m) ir didelės raiškos (iki 2 mm).
- Srities jutikliai pasižymi labai tiksliu ir patikimu objektų aptikimu. Todėl jiems būdingas lankstus panaudojimas įvairiems sprendimams.
